"Spring is coming"

Moberly Weekly Message #23

And here we are the last week before Spring Break. I always think that this is the beginning of the race to the end of the year. Although I miss our early days on Friday, I have to admit that 2 weeks for Spring Break feels like a blessing. Many of you have shared your exciting plans for travel and rest over the break. Like the crazy people we are, David and I have decided to pull out the carpeting in our living and dining room and replace it with laminate. That led to the idea of retiling the fireplace as well. Ill let you know how it goes.

We have parent teacher interviews this week. Please make sure to hand your schedules into the office if you havent already done so. Kelly will order pizza for our late night on Tuesday.

Also, I am looking forward to receiving your tallies for oral literacy and your class lists marked for reading levels. Please try to get those to me before Spring Break so that I can collate and prepare for our April 15th school planning day.

Centennial plans are moving ahead and thank to everyone who is helping out! The memory book and art cards will go to the school board this week for printing. Please let me or Dawn know if you need help with your Decade room plans. Needless to say, we are hoping that everyone will be able to attend the Centennial. There will be lots to do! If you are not able to be there on the Thursday evening, please let us know asap so we can sure to have coverage for all stations.

THIS WEEKS EVENTS:
1. Book Fair this week if you have some free time, please pop in and see if Gwen needs a hand. Parent volunteers are scarce and it is an enormous undertaking well worth it for our library. Thank you Gwen.

3. Patti and Dawn will be at the Superintendents meeting on Wednesday morning.

4. Sadly, we have a few good-byes to say this week. Please join us for the following:
Good bye to Siobhan Thursday at recess
Good bye and Happy Retirement to Dennis Thursday at lunch
Good bye to Georgina Friday at recess

5. Thanks to all those who have signed up to bring stuff to our Potato Lunch this Thursday. Wear green and you can enter a draw to win a Starbucks card!

6. Health & Safety meeting this Friday at 8:00 a.m. in the staffroom.

7. No School Based Team or Resource teacher meeting this Friday.
