Weekly Message #2-3

Congratulations to Mike Holdham who was the successful applicant for the continuing job share position with Barb. Mike has been here since September and it will be great for the kids to have him continue on. Welcome to the Moberly staff, Mike!

The Grade 1/2 position will be posted this Tuesday and interviews will happen the following week. It would be great if one of our primary teachers could be on the committee with Dawn and me. Please let me know if you are interested.

Our first PAC meeting of the year will be on Tuesday night. Dawn and I will be distributing notices to go home inviting parents to attend.

We are fortunate to have an art therapy student again this year. If you have a student who you think would benefit from this opportunity, please let Kit know.
THIS WEEK’S EVENTS:

1. Power of One (anti-bullying) show on Friday for primaries at 9:15 and intermediates at 10:50. Location TBA

Have a great week everyone!

Weekly Message #2-2

A huge thank you to everyone for helping out with re-organizing and adjusting classes on Friday. Sylvia is amazing and managed to get all of the changes entered in time for us to run off class lists late Friday. They are in your boxes. Here’s how it will work:
All students to last years’ homeroom (Gr. 1 – 7) Use your usual methods to inform students of where they are going. Ask them to head to their new classes and line up in the hall outside the classroom.

New K students will be arriving at 9:00 as well so the last year’s class should line up in the hall. Each K teacher should have a helper who will take the Ks to their new classes and drop them off in the hallway.

Thanks in advance to resource teachers who are helping out with the process. Dawn and I will circulate to help out any confused students!

If there are any problems, please let us know. Good luck everyone!

THIS WEEK’S EVENTS:

1. Earthrangers show for Grades 3 – 5 in the old gym from 1:30 – 2:15.

Weekly Message #2-1

It just seems like yesterday that I was writing our final message before the summer break. I hope that all of you had a wonderful, restful holiday.
We will be missing our retired colleagues this week -Kevin, Sheila, Ralph and Peter- and hope that they are savouring the freedom of their first September without a return to school! Peter is hoping to pop in to visit his last year’s class this week- ¬†we looking forward to seeing him!

Jennifer has a new full time position – K/1 at Seymour. Melissa has accepted an 80% position at Kitchener. Melissa’s job has been posted and will be filled by a TOC until we hire someone.

We welcome Paul Hughes who will be taking Maggie’s place until her return in January. Paul will be doing two days as Alison’s partner plus resource and computer prep. I know you will all help him along with this challenging assignment!

And finally job action Р please know that Dawn and I both respect your need to support the directions outlined by the VTF regarding your duties this fall. I will continue to send out my weekly message and leave it up to you if you wish to read it. We will be picking up supervision duties and collection of school fees etc. As always, our goal is to support all of you in your work with children. I know that we will find a way to make this work with the guidelines that have been set.

THIS WEEKS EVENTS:

1. Please check your welcome package in your mailboxes particularly non-enrolling teachers as you will have different assignments the first week.

2. We will have a short meeting complete with refreshments at 10:00 Tuesday morning to review the school organization. Please expect one more short organization meeting before the end of the week.
