Weekly Message #3-3

Goodbye Mr. Golden Sun! 😦 I hope you all had a chance to enjoy those last rays of summer sun on Saturday.  Hopefully, we’ll have a return to sunshine before too long.

The good news is that after Friday’s “surprise” Fire Drill, we can wait a little while before our next one.  The other good news is that our organization was confirmed by HR on Friday.  We will go ahead with the shift to new classes first thing on Monday morning.  Classroom teachers should have 3 things in their boxes – the new class list, an alpha list for the whole school and new lists for the classes related to last year’s students.  My apologies that the new class lists do not have the correct room numbers on them.  You’ll have to refer to the staff list for the room numbers if you don’t know them.  Here’s hoping that the transition goes smoothly.  Please let me know if there are any problems or concerns.

As you meet your new students, be inspired by their potential, knowing that our job is to “meet them where they are  and move them forward.”

Please promote “Meet the Teacher” night with your students – we want to get as many parents out as possible!

EVENTS THIS WEEK:

  1. New year assembly (should be short!) – Tuesday morning at 9:00 a.m.  We will review school rules and expectations.  Hopefully it will be inspirational!  Paul Czene will bring greetings from Sunset Community Centre
  2. Meet the Teacher night – Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.  Approx. 30 mins with you in the classroom followed by cookies in the lunchroom.  Packages of handouts and information will be in your boxes asap.
