Weekly Message #6-14

imagesA small group of us had a great time at the River Rock on Friday night – an excellent band and good company!  Saturday proved less entertaining as my Dad fell in the middle of the night and had to take another trip to the hospital.  It looks like he will be fine – no serious injuries but he will be in hospital for a least a few days.

In our final week, we have a number of events coming up.  First, the resource team will be meeting with Jen for the morning on various issues – particularly related to our low incidence students.  Thank you to everyone involved in finishing up IEP’s before the winter break as required by the VSB in preparation for the upcoming audit.

There is lots of excitement about this Thursday’s Winter Concert.  Although all evening tickets are gone, we still have room for a few parents at the afternoon show – order forms are in the office.

We will be chatting with you in early January regarding our recent experiment with twice monthly Staff Committee meetings to see if we wish to carry on with this in the new year.

Finally, Friday is movie day.  Our plans are not fully set yet as we are waiting to see if we can access two projectors but assuming we do, here is the plan:

Primaries will be in the old gym (with Patti)  and intermediates will be in the new gym (with Karl).  Primaries will be watching the new “Minions” movie and intermediates will be watching “Freaky Friday”.

9:45      Report to gym

10:40     Recess

11:00     Return to gym

11:45(approx)    Students return to classes.  Please be on hand to receive your class.

  1. Resource team meeting all morning on Monday.
  2. Gr 1 teachers meeting in Anita’s room on Tuesday 11:00 – 12:00
  3. Christmas Concert on Thursday – 1:00 – 3:00 in the afternoon and 7:00 – 8:30 at night
  4. Health & Safety meeting at 8:15 on Friday morning in the staffroom
  5. Movie for students 9:45 – 11:45 on Friday
  6. Seasonal goodies available in the staffroom at recess on Friday courtesy of your Social Committee

Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
