Weekly Message #6-23

IMG_0495Kudos to Brenden, Maggie, Scott and Marilyn for planning and guiding a great session on BC’s Redesigned Curriculum on Friday.  As always, it was great to see the commitment and hard work put in by staff as they worked together to meet this new challenge.  Thanks also to Karl and Jen (Brenden’s wife) for supplying the delicious snacks!  I look forward to our next opportunity to push further in our understandings of the new program on April 15th.

IMG_0887David and I had another busy weekend as I searched out and organized our tax documents (Yech!) and we welcomed a new baby!  My god daughter, Brooke, had a baby boy on Saturday night – Avery David Clancy, 7 lbs 1 oz.  He is absolutely adorable and his big sister, Alexa (age 2) was delighted to meet him.

I am looking forward to hearing our choir sing at the Nights of Music on Monday night.  The children always sing like angels – thanks to the hard work of their choir master – Jane.  You are invited to join us in the John Oliver Auditorium at 7:00 on Monday night.

Parent/Teacher interviews are set for Wednesday and Thursday evenings and we would appreciate receiving your interview schedules in the office asap.  Either Karl or I will be in the office during your interview times in case you need our support.  Popcorn will be available in the staffroom as usual.  Representatives from the PAC will be in the front hall taking gift card orders and providing information to parents – please encourage parents to wander by.

Finally, it will be movie and pizza day on Friday.  The primaries will be watching “The Good Dinosaur” with Karl in the old gym and the intermediates will be watching “Hotel Transylvania 2” in the new gym with me.  Students will be called down to the gym right after recess and we will watch half the movie until lunch time when students will be dismissed directly from the gyms.  Those students who have purchased pizza lunch will go to the new gym to pick up their meals.  Parent volunteers will be handing out the food.  Students should report to their classes for attendance before returning to the gym to see the remainder of the movies at 1:00.  You can expect that they will be returning to you at about 1:45 (or a little bit earlier/ later).  Please enjoy this gift of time before we head off for the Spring Break!

EVENTS THIS WEEK:

  1. Night of Music at JO auditorium on Monday night – 7 pm.
  2. Patti & Karl at the area meeting on Wednesday morning – Paul is in charge.
  3. Parent Teacher interviews Wednesday (2-8) and Thursday (2-6)

Have a great week everyone!
