Weekly Message #7-37

Well folks, this is it – the final weekly message from ptothethird.  I am still reeling from Friday’s retirement.  I am overwhelmed by the work done by the committee and everyone involved in organizing my retirement and making it everything I could possibly want it to be.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart to the best staff ever.  I will miss you all so much.  I know that Christine took a truckload of pictures (thank you Christine!) and Paul was kind enough to send a few to me to share with you today so here they are!

Of course there are lots of other end of year traditions to be experienced this week!  First of all, I am very pleased to see that so many of you will be joining the Grade 7’s for their luncheon on Tuesday.  Please bring the tickets that were put in your box on Friday in order to claim your food.  The Grade 7 food tickets will be on their plates at the luncheon so there is no chance for them to lose them!  If you are working with students and can’t eat with the grads, don’t forget to pick up your lunch selection at the barbecue outside the old gym.  Not sure what time he will start serving but as soon as the kids are fed, he’ll be closing up so don’t wait too long.  Staff who are free are welcome to attend the Grad ceremony at 1:00 in the new gym.

Our awards ceremony is jam packed and as usual, the primaries will be joining us part way through.  We will let you know when to come.

We will end the day on Thursday with our Grade 7 run.  All Grade 7 students should gather by class in the open area and be ready to parade through the halls.  Grade 7 teachers can join their students or station themselves in the stairwells to keep order!  We will be putting Canadian flags in your boxes this week.  Please hand them out at the end of the day on Thursday.  Grads can wave them as they go down the hall and the rest of us can wave flags at the grads in honour of Canada’s 150th!

Tues. July 4th will be the first day of our three week Knowledge Infusions Summer School.  We have over 150 students registered so the school will still be busy for a few weeks yet!

  1. Please come to the staffroom at recess on Tuesday to say goodbye to Cheryl.
  2. Grade 7 Grad 12:00 – 4:00 on Tuesday – both gyms are being used.
  3. Patti at the VSB on Wednesday afternoon.
  4. Awards ceremony at 9:00 on Thursday morning.  Please wait to be called down.
  5. Staff Breakfast at McCleery Golf Course on Friday morning at 8:30.  If you are not attending the breakfast, you are still required to report to work that day.  Please make sure we know how to reach you until 3:00 p.m.

Have a great week and a wonderful summer everyone!
